FATTAFIT TALKS TO NIMISHA SAHA ON HOW EXERCISING ( IN HER CASE CROSSFIT) AND MENTAL HEALTH ARE VERY CLOSELY LINKED. BE SURE, A HAPPY MIND CAN LEAD TO A HAPPY BODY ( AND VICE VERSA). Follow us on Facebook for updates.
In this IT city, the lifestyle makes us – irritated, upset, angry, and stressed. Depression is quite common and ignored as a state of mind. The sense of overachieving that has been pushed down through generations has become completely linear with the current generation. Everyone has to get an annual promotion, two salary hikes a year, offshore etc. If that wasn’t enough some get that with an icing of wedding pressure from the family. And while achieving all of this, you have lost your sanity and health.
And my answer – because I love it(with an almost uncontrollable smile)
Truth be told, it is just a bunch of exercises, if you google them up, and you have a great sense of conviction – you might as well do them at any other gym.
But if you are a Crossfitter, you know a few things for sure:
You can rely on someone – your coach (for he/she knows what is on that whiteboard)
You can have a pseudo family – your group (for they will stand by you through your worst days and best achievements)
It changes you as a human being – you drop or control all your smoking, drinking, and overeating because you need to do those last 100 sits ups.
You get an alternate sense of achievement when you hit your PR’s ( Personal Records).
You get to automatically feel better –thanks to the endorphin release.
The wedding part, of course, Crossfit cant solve, that you got to sort out yourself. If I were to sum up Crossfit for me – it is tough love, it will break you down before it builds you up and never ever lets you down!
