Many people embark on an earnest quest towards their fitness goals, but often fail to sustain the initial enthusiasm and effort. The reasons for this varies from individual to individual and here are a few ways to ensure the wheels don’t come off the wagon.
OVERTRAINING- Start slow & allow the body to slowly adapt to the effects of training. Over doing it initially will lead to excessive muscle soreness, fatigue & exhaustion as well as depleted energy this demoralising you.

THE PLATEAU- a lot of beginners do actually see an initial positive changes in terms of weight/fat loss, muscle gain or whatever their fitness goal maybe. However, the body hits a plateau after a period of time and this can lead to one getting demotivated and quitting. To combat this, switch up the stimulus of exercise. While strength training must stay consistent irrespective of your fitness goals, switch up the other forms of training to keep the body guessing and burning that stubborn fat.1780781_597852336964181_312421608_n

WORKOUT IN A GROUP ENVIRONMENT, Or with a gym buddy. This is one of the simplest and most sure fire way of staying motivated.

SET SMALL ACHIEVABLE TARGETS  OR GOALS to work towards within the framework of your larger objective. This will help when you want to assess progress and keep you motivated.

And finally if you have been SIDETRACKED due to work, illness, travel, family commitments, etc. try to keep your time away from exercising to no more than three days at a stretch. Even if you can’t make it to a gym and don’t have access to equipment, body weight and HIIT workouts will help you stay the course.
